Happy New Year! I'm back.

Hi! Remember me? I had to take some time off from blogging. I actually did not mean for it to be as long as it was, but somehow a week turned into 2 weeks and 2 weeks turned into.... well you get the picture.

I had to deal with some personal and family issues and then the Holidays were upon me. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a safe New Year.

I reviewed my New Year Goals for 2009. Some were accomplished, some not. Here how it stands.

1. Get our Money under control. Well, we started living on a written budget and that helped immensley. We really started concentrating on paying off debt and building our savings. We hit a big snag in the fall, when our income was reduced drastically. But, we've been able to make it so far, because of our new frugal lifestyle and the fact that we did have a small emergency fund.

2. Get involved with the community and volunteering. I did go back to the Nashville Humane Association. I think I found my nitch with the Pet Food Pantry. It's a great program that NHA is offering for folks that find themselves without the means to feed their pets. I've met a lot of good people who are in bad situations and are so grateful for a bag of dog food. It really makes me appreciate the resources that I do have.

3. Reduce, reuse, recycle. We've made the transition to reusable grocery bags (98% of the time). And we started composting most of our vegetation waste. By September, our actual household trash was so low, that we discontinued our trash pickup and take our usual one kitchen bag of trash to the dump when we take recycling.

4. Get E off of Sippy cups. My goal was by April of 09. Honestly, I don't remember when it was, but she's off the sippy.

5. Learn to make wraps. I did it! Okay, I do have a cheat sheet hidden in my kitchen.

I haven't quite thought through my goals for 2010 yet, but I write them up when I have them.

Happy New Year Everyone!
