Nashville Human Association Pet Food Bank

nashville-humane

During these hard economic times, there are more than just people suffering. More and more pets are being neglected or abandoned simply because their owners cannot afford to feed or take care of them.

The Nashville Humane Association has started a Pet Food Bank to help with some of the need. It works similar to a regular food bank like Second Harvest only it’s for pets. People can come by and pick up dog food, cat food and other supplies (as available) for their pets.

The Pet food bank is open on Wednesdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm.

Requirements for Eligibility are: Must be citizen of Davidson County

Must show proof of need such as: Disability forms, unemployment checks, Section 8 housing occupant.

Must show proof that your animal(s) are spayed or neutered. *If your animal is NOT spayed or neutered. NHA will provide you with a voucher to have the animal altered for free by a participating vet clinic. In order to receive more free food, you must bring back proof that the animal has been altered.

If you or someone you know is in need of this assistance for their pets, please call or come by the Nashville Humane Association.
