Weekly Grocery Finals
It took some discipline, but I got our groceries under budget this week. And thanks to Nashville Cheapster and Frugal Dr. Mom, I have found a great place to get really good bread for cheap! Apple Market on Nolensville road has Peppridge Farm Breads that are nearing their sell by dates for .50 a loaf! I found whole wheat, rye bread, hoagie buns and hamburger/hot dog buns all for .50 a loaf. Depending upon who you ask there, you'll get a different answer as to when the bread is available, but when I was there on Saturday, they still had 1 and 1/2 racks full. I will freeze my loaves and it will last us a couple of weeks.
Here's the breakdown of my shopping:
Apple Market:
2 Loaves of Peppridge Farm Whole Wheat: .50 each
1 package of hamburger buns. .50
1 package of cornmeal .90

4 cucumbers .49 each
Bananas .90
Baby carrots .99
Basil 1.09
Parmesan cheese 2.39
